The Arizona Aerospace Intitute Initiative will attempt to capitalize upon our existing industry assets to create an aerospace cluster of research and education. Our goal is to create an Institute with the mission of unifying industry partners to make Arizona a recognized international destination for aerospace and related programs.
Given the importance of the Arizona’s existing aerospace industry to our state and nation, Arizona is well positioned to create a collaborative venue that provides value to the industry in general and to the Arizona economy in particular. We will work in partnership to develop new technologies in aerospace and aviation, and address the critical workforce development needs of the industry.
An advisory board, recruited by the Speaker of the Arizona House of Representatives Kirk Adams, has been charged with the defining the mission of the Institute and identifying and securing a consortium of industry leaders committed to addressing the industry’s most critical needs.
Members of the advisory board are serving as volunteers until the Institute is launched and a permanent board is established. The advisory board will make recommendations to the Speaker on the specific mission of the Institute, who should comprise the consortium, how the consortium will be funded as well as recommendations on the legal framework for the Institute.
